Tusker Count Up Post-Veerappan

September 30, 2010: Six years after the death of forest brigand Veerappan, a scientific study undertaken at Sathyamangalam forest in Tamil Nadu, the once notorious hideout of the brigand, reveals that tuskers and tigers have reclaimed their territory and started flourishing.
 
The latest study carried out as per the guidelines laid down by the Union Environment and Forest Ministry at 30 places in the Sathyamangalam forest division has shown marked increase in the presence of elephants, tigers and other animals. Read the full article here.
