The year 2010 has been declared as Biodiversity Year by United Nations. To celebrate the priceless biodiversity of India, the Conservation Education Centre (CEC) of BNHS has announced a series of wildlife camps for every age group. The aim is to spread the message of nature conservation through edutainment. Pick up your favourites…..


Child v/s Wild Camp (Juniors) (8-10 November)
A unique biodiversity conservation programme – Young Green Champs. The camps are designed to enhance awareness in school children about the importance of nature and the relevance in our day to day lives. A non-residential camp will include interactive indoor and outdoor activities such as quiz, audio-visuals, nature trails, team building sessions, hands on experience activities aiding to child personality development. 
Time: 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. (All days) Age limit: 5-9 yrs Last date of Registration: 1st November 2010, 
 

Wild Chill Family Camp  (13-14 November)
Come witness the star-studded forest post monsoon, with our 2-day and single night residential camp at CEC. Discover the sparkling gems of the jungle; the beautiful beetles, the stunning butterflies and many more.  Partake in a truly wild camp amidst the forest, right in the heart of the city. We have a plethora of exciting activities including nature trails, team building sessions, hands on experience activities for the young and the young at heart! So forget all your worries and come closer to nature.
Time: First day 9.00 a.m. to Next day 4.00 p.m. Last date of Registration:  1st November 2010. 
 

Child v/s Wild camp (Seniors)  (16-18 November)
After overwhelming response in 2010, the “Child vs. Wild” camp is back with a bang.  Residential, adventurous, fun-filled yet educational camp for young wildlife fans. Let your child experience the joys and wonders of the forest and learn all about wildlife and survival tactics through enticing nature walks, fun-filled games, hands on experience activities, team building sessions, brain storming sessions and personality development activities. In three days your child will learn to appreciate nature, develop leadership and communication skills, hone his/her analytical and logical thinking skills. If your child is between 10-14 years old, passionate about wildlife, pesters you with innumerable questions, sign him/her up to our camps.
Time: 9.00 a.m. (First Day) to 04.00 p.m. (Last day), Last Date of Registration: 8th November 2010. 
 

Teen v/s Wild Camp (19-21 November)
A residential, adventurous, fun-filled yet educational overnight camp for young, energetic and untamed teens. If you are 15-18 years old, passionate about wildlife and you have a restless mind, then come and experience the joys and wonders of the forest and learn all about wildlife and survival tactics through enticing nature walks, fun-filled fashion show, personality development activities, bund making and clean up drives inside forests and be involved with community services too.  If you want to travel through this wild path of awareness, then get yourself registered for our camp and get your friends and siblings as well. This will surely be an unforgettable experience.
Time: First Day 9.00 a.m. to Last day 4.00 p.m., Age limit: 15-18 yrs Last Date of Registration: 11th November 2010.

In its second season, 5 day residential, adventurous, fun-filled yet educational camp will definitely offer an experience of joys and wonders of the forest for young wildlife fans. Learn all about wildlife and survival tactics, nature conservation through enticing nature walks, fun-filled games, team building sessions, hands on experience activities personality development activities, brain storming sessions, forest restoration activities and community services too. In five days your child will learn to appreciate nature, develop leadership and communication skills, hone his/her analytical and logical thinking skills. If your child is between 10-14 years old, passionate about wildlife, pesters you with innumerable questions, sign him/her up to our camps.
Time: 9.00 a.m. (First Day) to 04.00 p.m. (Last day), Last Date of Registration: 20th December 2010.

Green Guides Programme @ CEC
To develop a volunteer force of dedicated individuals for nature conservation, the Conservation Education Centre (CEC) of BNHS is has announced ‘Green Guides Programmes’ (earlier known as Volunteer Training Programme (VTP). Since 2004 we have been successfully conducting the VTP at CEC and trained more than 200 volunteers so far. This programme is suitable for all those who wish to work in the field of conservation education by contributing their time and knowledge.

 

The residential training programme is divided into two modules. These modules include subjects like natural history, environment education and nature conservation. Please note attending both the modules is important for successful completion of the training programme. At the end of training programme, participation certificates will be awarded to all the participants. After attending the training programme, participants would get opportunities to get hands on training experience at CEC during the ‘Shadowing Phase’ and then will be absorbed as regular volunteer. Let’s come & be a part of an ever-growing tribe of Green Guides.

An Evening in Forest - Fund raising dinner @ CEC – 1st January 2011
 Would you like to spend your new year’s first evening under stars, amidst thick jungles? You need not be at a hill station to have this unique experience neither at an expensive country club. You and your family can simply drive into the jungles at Goregaon and walk into Conservation Education Centre (CEC).

 

For first time CEC is organizing a grand fund-raising dinner to secure it’s bright and fruitful future. Join us on a dusk walk, pick some lessons from Nature in our innovative AV show, enjoy star gazing on our terrace, win some exciting raffle prizes and lastly enjoy an extravagant dinner under stars. Make this new year beginning a memorable event for your family and friends,  so come and celebrate with nature and support us. The receipts of the event will be used for infrastructure up gradation for conservation education.
