Science Express Biodiversity Special Train At CST

Science Express - Biodiversity Special to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and BNHS activities there on platform no 13, between 16th and 19th September 2012, between 10 am to 5 pm. Under this initiative of Department of Science & Technology and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India, this 16 coach AC train will visit stations across India till December 2012. It is at Mumbai CST on the above dates. BNHS is the Knowledge Partner for Centre for Science and Environment (CEE) for this initiative.

BNHS is conducting a range of interesting activities for people from all age groups at its Kiosk on the platform at CST on the above dates, such as hands-on science experiments, painting competition, face painting, Span your Wings, Bird Architecture, Beak and Feet activity (Birds), Quiz on Mumbai's Biodiversity, demo of online game of waste segregation - Trash Buster and teacher training sessions. The Science Express and BNHS activities are open to all, including students, parents and teachers. The Science Express exhibition will showcase the wide array of biodiversity in our country, conservation measures, Climate Change, Water/Energy Conservation, Environment and Legacy of the Science Express.

16th September 2012:
10.00 a.m.: Reception and Welcome
10.05 a.m.: Ribbon cutting
10.10 a.m.: Visit to train and platform exhibition and activities
10.45 a.m.: Tea
11.00 a.m.: Close of Inaugural Event
11.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.: Quiz
3.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.: Demo of online Game Trash Buster

17th to 19th September 2012:
11.30 a.m. - 1.00 p.m.: Teacher Training Workshop and presentation on Urban Biodiversity.

3.00 a.m. - 5.00p.m.: Trash Buster Game
