The Royal Bank of Scotland launches RBS Earth Heroes Awards 2015

The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has announced the RBS Earth Heroes Awards 2015. As an extension of the work being undertaken for communities in India, RBS institutionalised the annual RBS Earth Heroes Awards in 2011. RBS is actively supporting conservation through the work of RBS Foundation India that provides sustainable livelihoods to forest dependent communities in the ecologically-fragile landscapes of the country.
The livelihood programme supports tribal and other forest dependent households to enhance their incomes and engage in judicious natural resource management thereby paving way for constructive rapport between communities and efforts towards conservation.  The RBS Awards recognises and honours individuals and institutions who work exceptionally hard to preserve and protect our wildlife and habitats. The awards have been an effective platform for award recipients to display their work to a larger audience and potentially expand the scope of their work from the recognition and networking that is accrued. Nominations are received from across the country and the winners are decided by an eminent jury comprising experts from the field of wildlife conservation, bio-diversity management, science, government, media and The Royal Bank of Scotland N.V. The jury will evaluate the nominations and select a finalist for each award.
The awards would be presented in New Delhi in October 2015.
