Assam Roof and Indian Tent Turtles by Amano Samarp

The Assam roof turtle Kachuga sylhetensis, is one of 13 species of turtles found in Kaziranga. It is endangered and lives in both hill streams and the floodplains and is seen here sunning itself on a fallen tree in the Diphlu River. On the lower end is a circled Indian tent turtle Kachuga tentoria circumdata. Turtles help keep our waterbodies clean.
