Desert Fox by Nirav Bhatt

This exceptional photograph brings out the shy, watchful and tentative behaviour of young desert foxes Vulpes vulpes pusilla waiting for the return of their parents. Once they are weaned, they will eat food regurgitated by their parents at the den. Devoid of large carnivores, the Thar, India’s largest and the world’s most densely-populated desert, is dominated by small felids including jungle cats, desert cats and caracals, plus canids such as wolves, jackals and desert foxes.
