Indian Flying Fox by Saurabh R. Desai

The Indian flying fox or the giant fruit bat Pteropus giganteus may travel nearly 25 km. in just one night to feed on fruit and flowers. This means a medium-sized bat roost comprising 800-1,000 individuals can service a vast area, approximately 2,000 sq. km., in one night! Their role in the web-of-life, as pollinators and seed dispersers is invaluable.
