Bat by N. V. Krishnan

The greater false vampire bat Megaderma lyra is widely distributed and roosts in caves, temples, forts, dilapidated buildings and tunnels. Contrary to its name, the species does not rely on blood to sustain itself, though it is strictly carnivorous. Its diet includes insects, reptiles, birds, smaller bats, rats and even fish, as can be seen in this rare image.
