Tiger and Egret by Praveen P. Mohandas

This tiger and egret do not compete with each other, yet both are dependent on the waterhole they occupy, one to cool off and the other to roost and hunt for fish when the striped predator leaves the pool. In the Central Indian jungles of Bandhavgarh, summer temperatures may rise to over 40o C and tigers rarely, if ever, stray far from a reliable water source.
