Brahminy Kite by Ganesh H. Shankar
This Brahminy Kite Haliastur indus has lost its hard-earned catch. The bird is a familiar sight along most fresh and brackish waterbodies of the Indian subcontinent and is easily identified by its chestnut body and strikingly white head. Mainly a scavenger, this medium-sized raptor is also a proficient fish catcher. It’s a tough life out there for wild animals. Great value was added to this image precisely because the kite lost out this time.
