Cormorants by Dr. Manoj C. Sindagi

Almost entirely black in plumage, cormorants are synonymous with undisturbed wetlands. Their presence is an indicator of the health of fresh water ecosystems. This graphic silhouette was captured in Karnataka’s Kabini reserve. An ethereal evening sky and the photographer’s skill worked its magic on what might otherwise have been a routine photograph.
