Damselfly Pair by Narinder S. Narang
A beautiful ballet on the water. A damselfly pair still in the ‘mating chain’ position. While the male grips the neck of his partner with his anal appendages, balancing himself vertically erect in the air, frequently letting his wings quiver , the female lowers her abdomen into the water to lay eggs on some submerged aquatic plants. They may remain in this position for over fifteen minutes.
