A female trapdoor spider Phlogiodes validus lunges out of its burrow to grab its prey at the Aarey Milk Colony. These spiders are one of the least-studied arachnids on the planet and given that most remain hidden from the world, it makes them most susceptible to land use changes and alteration of habitat.
