Wild India Through Goutam Som’s Lens

Egret On Fire

The Eastern Great Egret, seen here catching fish, is generally all white with a yellow beak. In breeding season, however, its beak turns black. It is distinguishable from other white egrets because of its neck, which is nearly one and half times the length of its body.

Location: Manglajodi, Odisha.
