Just reached Ushuaia this morning. The city is more beautiful that I can describe. Snow-capped mountains in the distance, lush forests as far as the eye can see and quaint houses dotting the skyline. I've seen at least 3 huskies - my favourite breed of dog - frolicking in the many gardens we passed on our drive to the hotel.
Here's a picture of the view from my hotel room
We have the day to ourselves today once we finish the formalities of registering with the 2041 team and getting our gear checked. Our ambitious plans of venturing into town were scrapped when we learnt that the city enjoys an afternoon siesta and everything is shut from noon to four. This is definitely my kind of place! We leave for the Antarctic in two days time!
