Conservation Education Centre (CEC) of BNHS is supporting the “No TV Day” on 29th January 2011 and celebrating it by organizing an unique event "Family's Day Out". It is very important to reconnect with Mother Nature for healthy recreation, education, all-around growth and spiritual peace of mind. BNHS urges families to join for a day long trek to Sálim Ali Point inside BNHS Nature Reserve surrounding CEC in Goregaon in suburban Mumbai. The trek will include traversing five different nature trails in a single day! It is a good place to watch birds and butterflies as they fleet through flowering trees and look out for the tell tale signs of large mammals or even spot some! BNHS CEC is situated on 33 acres in Goregaon (East). It is surrounded by a sprawling, undulating forest and its proximity to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is an added bonus, for much of the richness of plant and animal life is experienced in CEC’s environs. Occasionally a Leopard roams the terrain and Sambar forage around in the late evenings, frequenting the water hole behind CEC.
