Winners Photography Awards 2010
Wild dog and Wild Boar by Siddharth Malik
It’s normally the other way around. The dogs do the chasing and the pigs the running. But this time a sounder of hungry male wild pigs in the Tadoba Tiger Reserve that were scavenging on a chital carcass turned the tables on the wild dogs. The photographer informs us, however, that within moments reinforcements arrived as a large pack of dogs regained possession of the treasured chital. The outcome of confrontations in wildernesses can never be predicted. Today’s winner will probably be tomorrow’s loser and humans should ideally remain mere observers, allowing nature to take its course.
