Leopard and Buffalo by Sandeep Dutta
There are no tigers in Sri Lanka. This is why leopards Panthera pardus kotiya are able to dominate that country’s wilderness areas and are easily seen during the day. Here we see a leopard dragging a young water buffalo Bubalus bubalis towards cover in the Yala National Park. This is the second largest protected area in Sri Lanka and boasts of some of the densest leopard populations in the world.
