As many as five different kinds of primates including the rhesus and pig-tailed macaque, capped langur, spectacled langur and slow loris are found here. Apart from leopard, clouded leopard, civets, barking deer and wild boar, this forest plays host to as many as 100 species of birds, including waders and waterfowl.
Botanists in Sepahijala have recorded as many as 456 plant species. These tropical moist deciduous forests sustain myriad wildlife species.
